Delete your account

WordTogether · com.derbzz.wordtogether · Last updated 3 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your WordTogether account, exactly what is deleted, what is kept, and how long it takes. An account is optional in WordTogether — if you have never created one, there is nothing here to delete.

Delete it from inside the app

  1. Open WordTogether.
  2. Go to Settings (the round button with two sliders at the top right of the home screen).
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Tap Delete account, then confirm with Delete account permanently.

The deletion happens on our server straight away, and it cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no way to recover the account afterwards.

Delete it by email

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@wordtogethergame.com from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. We will action it within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your email address.
  • Your account identifier.
  • If you signed in with Google, the basic profile information Google supplied with your sign-in, including your name.
  • The copy of your game progress stored with the account — levels completed and stars earned, token balance, daily puzzle progress and streak, endless mode progress, and your settings.
  • If you used Friends: your Friends name, your friend code, your friends and friend requests, the players you blocked and any blocks placed on you, your daily results, the reactions you sent and received, reports you made and reports made about you, any suspension from Friends, and the record of friend codes you tried.

One record is kept. Supabase, which hosts accounts, keeps an audit log of account activity: your email address, the IP addresses the account was used from, and events such as signing in and the deletion itself. That log is not removed when the account is deleted. Apart from it, we do not retain an anonymised or partial record of a deleted account.

What is not deleted

The save on your phone. Deleting the account deletes only the account — the game in progress on the device is left alone, and the app carries on as guest play. To remove that local copy, delete the app from your phone.

WordTogether has no crash reporting of its own (Google's ads software collects its own crash logs and diagnostics; see below). Its small anonymous usage counts and any words you suggested (see the privacy policy) are never linked to an account, so there is nothing in them to delete when an account is deleted. They are deleted automatically instead: counts after 30 days, suggestions after 90 days at the latest.

The ads come from Google AdMob, which uses your phone's advertising ID, not your account. Data Google's ads software collects goes to Google, not to us; the privacy policy says what it is. You can reset or delete that ID in your phone's own settings.

How long it takes

Deletion from our live systems is immediate when you delete from inside the app, and within 30 days when you ask by email. A copy can survive in our host's routine encrypted backups for a short while after that; those backups are rotated, and a deleted account is gone from them within 30 days of the deletion. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
